THE Corsair Athletics STORY
What makes Corsair Athletics different?
Corsair Athletics came about when three of us from different backgrounds met at a CrossFit gym and decided we could bring something new to the Seattle fitness scene. Having all tried not only CrossFit but other fitness modalities before, we understood that people look for different exercise programs at different stages of life and stages of fitness. Working parents, those recovering from illness or injury, folks preparing for competition, or anyone who wants to get ready for beach season all have very different needs and objectives.
ALL TYPES OF FITNESS, ALL UNDER ONE ROOF
Other functional fitness gyms address this by welcoming everyone and helping them to modify workouts to their abilities. Modifying or scaling is important, but we feel that only meets people halfway. That’s why Corsair offers not only CrossFit, but HYROX (a growing running/conditioning program that de-emphasizes strength training), Hybrid Strength and Sweat classes which combine strength training with conditioning, personal training, and more. We feel this makes us truly Seattle’s Only Gym for Every Body.
WHAT’S A CORSAIR?
It’s a pirate for hire, or a privateer! It also means a fast ship. We take inspiration from the gritty, entrepreneurial spirit of corsairs (combined with more integrity of course), and from the symbolism of a ship carrying you on a journey of adventure.

We chose Ballard as the home for Corsair Athletics because of its unstoppable community energy. So many people call Ballard home from all walks of life that it made the perfect place to build a new fitness family. Ballard’s strong maritime history further underscores Corsair’s connection to the journey and adventure.
